Mangaluru: The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) Mangaluru Chapter in association with Artkanara Trust is organizing ‘Baithak at Kodial Guthu’, a musical evening at Kodial Guthu Center for Art and Culture on Saturday, March 27 at 6pm.

This is the third series of event by INTACH celebrating the musical heritage of Karnataka. The evening will be filled with the Hindustani vocals of Dr Mithun Chakravarthy.

“This is the first time we are featuring Hindustani vocals,” said Subhas Basu, convenor of INTACH Mangaluru Chapter. The event will be in a closed form so that the audience and the artist can be close to each other and enjoy the evening, he added.

Rajendra Kedige, trustee of Artkanara notes that events like these are important to promote art and culture of the nation. “We at Artkanara are glad to team up with INTACH to organize this musical evening which celebrates Hindustani music,” he said.

The singer for the evening, Dr Mithun Chakravarthy is the disciple of PT. RajShekhar Mansur, son of the legendary musician Pt. Malikarjun Mansur of the Jaipur Atrauli Gharana tradition.
