Veteran actor and Konkani enthusiast, Oswald M D’Souza no more

Mangaluru: Veteran actor and Konkani enthusiast, Oswald M D’Souza, passed away on Saturday May 29 at Father Mullers Hospital.

He was a passionate journalist and had completed his studies from St Aloysius educational institutions.

“We travelled together to Dubai in the year 1975 and have also worked together closely,” said Merlyn Lobo, cousin of Oswald D’Souza. “He grew up in the Bendoor church and was very fond of the place and involved in a lot of activities,” he added.

People knew him to be a very active, calm and peaceful person who was talented drama actor.

He was active member of Konkani Cultural Organization (KCO) and worked as it’s a General Secretary when he moved to Abu Dhabi after working in Dubai for 6 years. He had a very good journalistic skill and worked as a correspondent for DaijiWorld. He used to write reports about KCO Functions to many news portals. Most importantly he was a good friend and very nice human being.

He was well known among the community for lending a helping hand to numerous social causes

Oswald is survived by wife Blanche and sons Brian and Colin.
