Volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh working hard to control covid

Mangaluru: A team of 50 involving seniors and youth have been working hard selflessly for the past 25 days to control Corona in the taluk.

The goal is to continue to serve without any discrimination.

Such is the quality of volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. These volunteers are always the first to reach out whenever there is crisis in the country and Seva Bharati wing is the result of this service attitude.

The unit during this time is silently operating in Belthangady taluk. The service rendered by the Seva Bharathi last year during the floods is remembered even today by the affected.  

At the office of the Seva Bharathi at Sharada Mantap in Ujire a 24-hour helpline has been functioning with four people devoted for the purpose. While, two people are working to provide service related to vaccination, ventilators, Ayushmann, quarantine, and doctor facilities, the three look after connecting to hospitals, awareness and blood donation unit. There are four people working in telemedicine unit too.

In all four ambulances and three emergency vehicles are always ready to serve the needy. Over 3000 people have benefitted due to Seva Bharathi’s service so far. More than 180 people have received ambulance service free of cost and nine people have received Ayushman benefits. This part 18 cremations have been made.

Also if villagers face food scarcity, arrangements are made to provide the same through village level volunteers. Anyone from taluk wherever they reside in Karnataka receive help from thjs Seva Bharathi unit. Not only Covid affected but others too have received help. Not only government but also the Corona patients in the private hospital too are regularly monitored. Several doctors are lending helping hand to the unit. MLA makes arrangements of masks, PPE kits, and  medicines when needed.

The team at Ujire faithfully and spontaneously works in accordance with the motto of ‘Seva, Samskara, Samarasata, Samarasata’ with the utmost organised, and disciplined way.
