An FIR has been filed following an incident at Holy Christ School in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, where an 11-year-old boy was reportedly struck on the face with a wooden stick during a Hindi class. The incident occurred Thursday after the boy and classmates were allegedly playing with glue bottles and sprinkling water. The teacher attempted to control the disruption with a warning but reportedly struck the student, causing a broken tooth.
The boy’s father reported that his son had approached the teacher to address classmates’ behavior, but instead, the teacher allegedly struck him. The father further alleged that the school tried to privately settle the issue to avoid police involvement.
Police have taken action under the Juvenile Justice Act and Section 122(2) of the BNS, seizing the stick and collecting the broken tooth as evidence. The teacher reportedly claimed the incident was unintentional, stating the boy’s face was inadvertently struck while she attempted to control the class.
In a related twist, the school filed a non-cognisable complaint against the father, accusing him of verbal abuse and disruption on school premises after the incident.
