Kalaburgi: In a horrific incident that came to light in Kalaburgi, three car dealers were allegedly kidnapped by a gang and brutally tortured. The videos of the car dealers suffering torture by the kidnappers administering electric shocks to their private parts while they were naked have gone viral.
Police sources said that they have arrested seven accused in connection with the incident. Police said a FIR was registered on May 5 and May 7; in this regard, videos of some males being beaten by other males after making them naked were doing the rounds in Kalaburgi city.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Zia Ul Hussain, Hussain Sheikh, Ramesh, Mohammad Matheen alias Steel Matheen, Imran Patel, Mohammad Afzal Sheikh, and Sagar. Police suspect these accused are members of a larger gang, and efforts are on their way to nab the remaining members.
On May 5 at 9:30 pm, the victims lodged a complaint with the police, stating that they had been abducted on May 4 under the guise of inspecting a used car offered by the accused.
They were held captive in isolation, were physically assaulted with sticks, and were pressured for money. The accused continued to torment them by demanding further funds. The police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the case.
