The incident occurred on the night between Monday and Tuesday, with the accused reportedly inebriated at the time. The motive for the crime remains unclear.

The couple had been living apart due to domestic disputes, and the boy had been staying with his mother, according to a police control room official.

The boy went missing from his mother’s home on Monday, prompting his family to search for him. He was discovered dead near his father’s house around 8 am on Tuesday.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found a paper ball stuffed in the boy’s mouth and blood coming from his nose.

Investigations indicated that the man had been consuming excessive alcohol since his wife moved out. On the night of the incident, he allegedly made a ball from torn notebook papers and stuffed it into the boy’s mouth, leading to his death by choking.

Following a complaint from a relative, the accused was arrested on Tuesday night and charged with murder under Indian Penal Code section 302.
