
Crocodile Found in Well Sparks Alarm in Nagoor
On Tuesday, July 30, a crocodile was discovered in a well in Nagoor village, located within the jurisdiction of the Kirimanjeshwar grama panchayat. The sighting has caused significant concern among local residents.
The crocodile appeared unexpectedly in a well at the residence of Vishwanath Udupa. The presence of a crocodile, known to evoke widespread fear, has heightened anxiety in the area.
In response to the alarming discovery, a multi-agency operation has been initiated. The Byndoor Forest Department, in collaboration with the police, fire brigade, and revenue department, has mobilized resources to address the situation. Nets are being used in an attempt to capture the crocodile safely.
Local residents have assisted by placing bait, such as chicken meat, in the well to attract the crocodile. Additionally, Nagoor Network and Security Solutions have installed CCTV cameras around the well to monitor the crocodile’s movements remotely.
Efforts are being made to facilitate the capture by leveling the well’s parapet and using bait effectively. As news of the crocodile spread, large crowds have gathered to witness the event. To manage the influx of people, the police department has enforced strict security measures and is using CCTV footage to assist in capturing the reptile.
The operation is ongoing, with authorities working diligently to ensure the crocodile is safely captured and removed from the well.
