Danger on Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway: Attempts to Topple Vehicles with Wooden Log
In a shocking incident, a man was caught on camera attempting to disrupt traffic on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway by placing a wooden log on the road, risking serious accidents. The unsettling event has raised alarms among commuters, as the expressway, which is meant for high-speed traffic, has been the site of several previous accidents.
A dashcam video captured the moment of danger, showing how the man’s actions could have led to a catastrophic collision. The footage was shared by social media user Deep Darshan, who warned fellow travelers, “Caution for travelers on Mysore-Bangalore Expressway. Attempted car-toppling near Kengeri (Jan 20, 6:42 PM). A miscreant was holding a log and placed it on the closest lane near the divider, aiming to cause an accident and snatch valuables.”
The video shows a vehicle swerving abruptly, prompting the car behind to slow down. As the driver approaches, a man is seen holding a log near the divider, dangerously positioned towards the passing lane. A momentary lapse in attention could have led to a severe crash.
Darshan tagged Bengaluru Police in the post, urging immediate action to capture the individual. Social media users expressed their outrage, with one commenting, “Endangering lives for valuables, and that too during evening hours.”
This isn’t the first safety concern on the expressway. A recent incident also involved a safety cone placed in the passing lane, posing a major hazard. Despite assurances of high vigilance with AI-based cameras, these incidents point to major flaws in safety protocols.
