Delhi Shootout: Police Nab Two Tillu Tajpuriya Gang Shooters
The Special Cell of the Delhi Police apprehended two Haryana-based shooters from the Tillu Tajpuriya gang after a shootout in Rohini on December 6. Both suspects, identified as Narender (24) from Sonipat and Abhishek (22) from Panipat, sustained gunshot injuries to their legs and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to the police, the suspects were wanted for the murder of Amit Lakra, a member of the Gogi gang, who was killed in the Mundka market area on November 9. This attack was reportedly part of ongoing rivalries between the Tillu and Gogi gangs.
“Teams were deployed to capture them, and when ordered to surrender, they opened fire at the officers. In response, police returned fire, injuring both suspects,” an officer stated.
The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the crackdown on inter-gang violence in Delhi, which has witnessed a series of retaliatory crimes stemming from the feud between the two gangs. The operation highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement in tackling organized crime networks operating in the region.
