
Elderly Woman Allegedly Raped by Former Worker in Kalaburagi
A 75-year-old woman in Chincholi taluk, Kalaburagi district, was reportedly raped by a man who previously worked on her fields, according to police on Tuesday.
Chincholi Deputy Superintendent of Police Sangamnath Hiremath stated that the incident occurred on Sunday night when the accused visited the woman’s house, which she opened as she recognized him. Taking advantage of her trust, he allegedly assaulted her before fleeing.
The woman, who lives alone following her husband’s demise, sought assistance from neighbors the next morning. She was subsequently admitted to the Bidar district hospital, where hospital authorities alerted the police.
A case has been registered under Section 64 of the BNS Act (punishment for rape), and authorities have launched a manhunt to apprehend the accused.
