
Elephant and Leopard Carcasses Discovered in Arkalgud Taluk

On Saturday, two separate wildlife fatalities were reported in Arkalgud taluk, Hassan district. A 25-year-old male elephant was found dead on farmland in Nelaballi, with forest officials suspecting electrocution as the cause. In Santhemarur, a decayed leopard carcass was uncovered during lake bund cleaning, showing porcupine quills on its skin, indicating a possible altercation. Forest department personnel have visited both sites to investigate these incidents.
