Bollywood movies and their unrealistic clichés

People enter situations with expectations based on their own personal opinions, ideals, and aspirations as well as more subliminal expectations based on hidden insecurities and flaws. All of these are quite subjective and personal.

Bollywood is renowned for producing content that occasionally departs greatly from reality. The notion that it is simple for a boy to meet a girl, for the two of them to fall in love, to get beyond a hurdle, and to live happily ever after is what makes the audience believe these expectations. The Bollywood movies I watched as a child made everything in the future appear like it would be simple. Even if we secretly desire we may one day discover a romance as stunning as the lovers on our televisions, we frequently scoff and mock at how corny these images of romances are. It’s like these movies are escorting us to a perfect utopia where a background music score is what makes us feel alive. And undoubtedly, there are songs for even the slightest of these details in Bollywood.

Wondering what your heart is feeling? There is a song for it. It is your friend’s wedding, but you are the center of attention. There is a song for it. A lover describing his beloved’s eyes, there are a great deal of songs for this in Bollywood too. Most rom-com movies contain a small amount of fantasy, whether we’re aware of it or not. However, there are times when you can’t help but question whether it’s not too much. Especially when it comes to underlying expectations of youth love. It’s shocking how a guy’s vigorous attempt at persuasion leads the girl to fall in love with him, even after rejecting him for the hundredth time.

Bollywood films tend to use such love stories to draw in more viewers. Even we, unconsciously, fall for it. Moreover, this industry is very capable of producing strategic films. And just like that, Bollywood is figuring its way into contemporary films featuring youth defying social conventions, especially in this on-going modern generation. In general, it’s critical for those individuals who are into these concepts to comprehend the crucial gap between the romantic love we see in movies and the irrational expectations they foster.

Rom-coms are entertaining, but that contrast needs to be seen in the eyes of the audience.
