Marathi film “Vakya” bags award in Pune film festival

Marathi cinema prides itself in making movies with new and refreshing subjects that motivate people. Producer Sunny Shah and Director Deepak Kadam have chosen to do so with the subject of Education. Education has always been a strong subject in movies, with most of the movies highlighting common issues.

VkyaThe movie “Vakya” is based on child education. It tells the story about parents of less means who help their son recieve good education after getting through several hurdles. This movie carries a strong message for everyone.  Owing to this strong message, and under able direction the film has successfully bagged an award at the Pune Film Festival.

Veteran actor Raj Dutta has played a lead character in the film.

Producer Sunny Shah in a statement to the media said, “This is a unique movie which is based on a fight for education. A father has decided to educate his son but people oppose him and remind him of their economic position and ancestral tradition”.

The movie shot was shot in a rural area of Maharashtra. Director Deepak Kadam said, “It feels great that my movie has won an award in Pune film festival. It was a great pleasure to working with veteran actor Raja Dutta”.
