New Delhi: Actor Mukesh Khanna has shared a heartfelt account of his final visit to late veteran star Dharmendra, describing the deeply emotional atmosphere at the actor’s residence just days before his death. Dharmendra, who passed away on 24 November at the age of 89, had recently been discharged from the hospital and continued treatment at home.

Mukesh Khanna recounts emotional visit

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Mukesh Khanna revealed that he visited Dharmendra’s home shortly after the actor returned from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. He recalled that the family had transformed part of the house into an ICU-like setup in hopes of supporting his recovery.

“I had gone to their home just five or six days ago, right after he was brought back from the hospital. They had set up an ICU-like arrangement inside the house itself. I knew I wouldn’t be able to meet him properly, but I still felt it was important to go,” Khanna said.

During the visit, he met Dharmendra’s sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Khanna remembered encouraging them, expressing faith in Dharmendra’s strength:
“I told them, ‘He is very strong. He will come out of this… he will get through this problem.’ But in the end, whatever God wills is what happens.”

Khanna added that the news of the actor’s passing shocked many because of Dharmendra’s reputation for resilience. “His body gave up, but the soul moves on. And he had a beautiful soul,” he said.
