Mumbai: After actor Tanushree Dutta levelled some serious allegations against veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on sets of a film that the two worked together, Patekar’s lawyer has issued an official statement that they are in a process of sending Dutta a legal notice.
Speaking to ANI, Patekar’s lawyer Rajendra Shirodkar said, “In process of sending a legal notice to Tanushree Dutta as she has made false allegations and has spoken untruth. We will send the notice seeking apology for her statements making allegations.”
Dutta, in an interview on September 25 recalled a ten-year-old experience working with Patekar in a film titled ‘Horn OK Please’ and said that the senior actor sexually harassed her and her voice went unheard because most of the people around her ganged up against her.
She has alleged Patekar of misbehaving with her both verbally and physically while filming a dance number and also said that the actor summoned members of a particular political party on sets of the film when she refused to do an intimate scene with him.
Dutta had also made allegations against choreographer Ganesh Acharya, director Rakesh Sarang and producer Samee Siddique of witnessing everything and not interfering. However, all three have denied the allegations.
Meanwhile, Mirror Now has reported Nana Patekar saying, “How do I know why she’s saying this? What does she mean by sexual harassment? There were 50-100 people on set with me. I’ll take legal action against her. But it is a waste of time telling the media about it because you will play up anything. Whatever people want to say, they can say. But I will continue doing my work.”
