The duo joined Rahman during his performance, thrilling thousands of attendees who had gathered to witness the Oscar-winning composer perform his iconic numbers.
Ram Charan calls working with Rahman a ‘childhood dream’
When Ram Charan joined Rahman on stage, the audience erupted in cheers. The actor, who stars in Rahman’s upcoming Telugu film Peddi, expressed his admiration for the composer. “Chikiri is doing record numbers in all languages. It was a childhood dream for me to be a part of his music, and it is part of my favourite subject, Peddi. I think it can’t get luckier than this,” said Charan, drawing thunderous applause from the crowd.
The actor’s words reflected the excitement surrounding Peddi’s music, which marks Rahman’s grand return to Telugu cinema after several years.
Janhvi Kapoor addresses fans in Telugu
Janhvi Kapoor also took the stage, winning hearts by addressing the audience in Telugu. “Ee cinema lo bagham aye avakasam dorikinanduku naa adrushtam ga bhavistunanu. Maa first single meeku baaga nacchutundi ani anukuntunanu. Ee cinema lo miku oka different ga unique ga experience ivadaniki chala hard work chestunamu,” she said, meaning, “I feel lucky to have got the opportunity to act in this film. I hope you are all enjoying our first single Chikiri Chikiri. We are working very hard to bring you a unique and different experience.”
Fans praised her effort to speak the local language, and videos of her Telugu address quickly went viral on social media.
Rahman shares his love for Telugu music
Rahman, who has composed the soundtrack for Peddi, shared his love for the Telugu language and expressed his excitement about returning to the industry. The concert featured several of his hit songs, alongside glimpses of new tracks from the film.
