Mumbai: Actress Sridevi has filed a case against the makers of her comeback film Puli for failing to pay a part of her remuneration. It is learned that the actress is yet to receive Rs 50 lakh. “Sridevi has filed a complaint with the Mumbai Producers’ Council against the financers for evading a part of her remuneration which was promised to be given after the release of the film,” reveals a source.
The highly-anticipated Vijay-starrer Puli is said to have been made on a budget of over Rs 100 crore. But the film went on to be a dud. Interestingly, the Chimbu Devan-directorial co-starring Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani has been in troubled waters right from its completion.
“From the film’s first look being leaked to the IT raids a day ahead of the film’s release, Puli’s woes continue even till date with this new development,” the source goes on to add. However, an official confirmation about Sridevi’s complaint is awaited.
