Mangaluru: Centre for Environmental Studies of Yenepoya University Mangaluru organized “National Energy Conservation Day” on December 17.
Prof. S. Shrihari, Professor at Department of Civil engineering, NITK, Suratkal delivered a lecture on ‘Energy conservation and resources’ on the occasion. He stressed about the importance of energy as well as necessity to conserve energy resources to save it for future.
The Eco club of the University organised a painting competition on the topic ‘Swachh Bharat’ for the students of Government High School, Manchi, Kukkaje. An online contest to collect ideas/solutions for clean and green India was held for staff and students of Yenepoya University. Prof. Abdul Rahiman, Assistant Registrar of Yenepoya University and Prof. Shrihari distributed prizes to the winners on this occasion.
Dr. Bhagya B. Sharma, Assistant Director, Centre for Environmental Studies, organized the programme and delivered the vote of thanks.
