Mangaluru: The course inauguration of the 19th Batch of B.Sc.(N), was held on October 7 at 10 am in the Athena College Auditorium.
The Programme commenced with the prayer dance led by 2nd-year B.Sc. (N) students. Sr. Aileen Mathias Vice Principal of Athena College of Nursing welcomed the gathering which was followed by lamp lighting that marked the inauguration of the course.
Sr. Deepa Peter, Principal Athena College of Nursing briefed about the course and she focused on quality education and the overall development of the students. The faculty of Athena College of Nursing was introduced to the freshers followed by students’ introduction.
In the presidential address R.S Shettian, Chairman of Athena Institute of Health Sciences welcomed all freshers to the institution and congratulated them for selecting the college. He assured management support in all the curricular and extracurricular activities. Nancy D’Silva Lecturer I year B.Sc (N) co-ordinator was present on the dais. Nishel Barboza, Associate Professor and HOD, Medical Surgical Department proposed the vote of thanks. The Programme came to the end with a short cultural programme. The whole programme was compered by Priyanka D’Souza Lecturer of Child Health Nursing.
