Mangaluru: 5 Students of the Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering, Kavyashree C M, Yuktha N Gowdaz Shreya S, Prachi Sahu and Nithyashree U from the Department of Aeronautical Engineering students participated in the HOVER POD Challenge and won the SECOND PLACE held in IIT Kharagpur organized by National Space Students Challenge (NSSC) held from the 1st to 3rd Nov. 2019.
The students who participated in the events are Adarsh T, Swathira, Shreesha K J, Akshay Kamath, Jayantha, Junaid M J, Kavyashree C M, Prachi Sahu, Yuktha N Gowda, Shreya S and Nithyashree U.
A total of 26 teams participated in the National level competition including various IIT and NIT college teams. The challenge was to build a hoverboard based on the specifications provided before-hand. The hoverboard had to cross various obstacles, travel on water and reach the finish line. Based on the precision working of the hoverboard, the skill of the controller and the accurate path followed, marks will be provided.
This is the second consecutive time MITE students have participated in the national level hover pod challenge and bagged the prize. MITE has won the 1st & 2nd prize HOVERPOD Competition in the year 2018 also.
