7 CFAL students clear IIT JAM 2022

Mangaluru: Yet again, it is a moment of pride for CFAL with 7 of its students excelling in the IIT JAM 2022. CFAL students Sarwin, Tanuja, Ashlyn and many others have topped Mangalore and have made the city proud by securing exceptional ranks in the general category of IIT JAM examination, the result of which was declared by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee on Thursday.

“The dedication of students, their parents, senior teachers and mentors have especially yielded good results in IIT JAM 2022, CFAL has been achieving exceptional results for over a decade now”, said CFAL’s Founder, Severine Rosario while congratulating all the students for their excellent achievement. The toppers opined that the IIT JAM curriculum by CFAL and working on previous question papers, solving quizzes/tests, DPPs and the right guidance from the senior faculty helped them crack the JAM exam.

Seven CFAL students have secured excellent ranks in the said exam. The celebrated students from CFAL are Sarwin (AIR 356), Tanuja (AIR 603), Ashlyn (AIR 682), Karthik (AIR 1281), Ashish (AIR 1633), Panchami (AIR 2439), and Riyon (AIR 2651). Students at CFAL have achieved great heights even during the pandemic, thanks to the institute’s online program. This JAM training was a personalized pilot programme for 8 undergraduate students, out of which seven have cleared IIT-JAM 2022.

Every year more than 55,000 candidates appear for the JAM exam. Out of the total number, only 2802 seats are made available through this entrance examination. The exam is a gateway to get into 20 Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Science across the country. The IITs are premiere autonomous public technical and research universities located across India and are ranked above any other prestigious colleges in India for STEM.

What is IIT JAM ?
IIT JAM is a gateway for candidates seeking admission in Master of Science programmes (M.Sc) and other post-graduate science programmes at 20 IITs, NITs including the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
IIT JAM is a national level entrance exam held once a year by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). The exams are computer based and are of the objective pattern. The duration of the exam is three hours and it includes 60 questions of Multiple choice(MCQs), Multiple Selection and Numerical Answer Type Questions.
Seven papers are conducted for each respective subject namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematical Statistics, Geology, Biotechnology and Economics. Biological Science was removed from the series in 2020 and Economics was added in 2021.
