Mangaluru: As part of the Agnes Towards Community (ATC) initiative, the students of III B.A. and B.Sc. of St Agnes College (Autonomous), actively joined together for their field visit to Mogaveera Higher Primary School at Ullal. Asha Albuquerque and Vidya Patali accompanied the students. The students were divided into two groups. The B. Sc. group handled the children from 1 to 4 classes and the B.A. group 5 to 7 standard.

The children were taught some easy and enjoyable action songs by the B.A. students which helped them to learn the various parts of their body in English. Then they were divided into groups and were administered a crossword puzzle which helped them strengthen their vocabulary and spelling. The kids from each group were vying with each other to finish the activities quickly.

The respective winners were awarded with colourful stationary items. The B.Sc. group conducted a health and hygiene awareness programme for the children where they were trained to practice better habits and take care of their health. They also conducted a fun quiz for the children and the most active repliers were awarded the prizes. ATC students spent their day with the children from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

The students also took part in the Oath Taking Ceremony administered at school as part of the Constitution Day observation at 11 a.m. sharp. The day ended with the distribution of chocolates and balloons. A total of 74 students were the beneficiaries of this programme.
