Mangaluru: A variety of professional courses at Alva’s College are doing well and for the course ACCA under the Commerce Department the college has been officially declared and recognised as Official Learning Centre by England. Since year 2019-2020 academic year, courses ACCA recognised by UK and CMA recognised by USA are made available which are fetching good results.
Exempted subjects
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) is a three-year course that requires students to write a total of 13 papers. As a result of Alva’s College being recognised as ‘Official Learning Centre’, the BCom students will get exemption in five subjects. Business and Technology, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Corporate and Business Law, and Taxation are the papers or subjects exempted. Against this backdrop, the students pursuing BCom along with ACCA in 2021-22 academic year will have to study 8 papers in three years and thus qualify to become ACCA.

Several opportunities such as employment information camps, skill development classes, online job fairs and such others will be directly available to the students. This course qualification is in demand among Big 4 companies, and there are opportunities to continuously gain internship and direct placement. Also the students will be interviewed for top jobs at Alva’s College itself and that the ACCA certification is officially recognised in more than 180 countries around the world. The training for the ACCA is being conducted under the leadership of Don Andreo, Director of CFO Nex Mangaluru.
