Mangaluru: Athena Institute of Health Sciences celebrated the Graduation ceremony of 13th batch of GNM, 11th batch of B.Sc, 8th batch of PB B.Sc and M.Sc Nursing on March 21, at 4pm in Town Hall Mangaluru. Programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries.
Stephen Mascarenhas (Hemacharya), Editor-in-Chief of Daijiworld Weekly was the chief guest and Dr. Larrisa Martha Sams, Principal of Laxmi Memorial college of Nursing was the guest of honour. R. S. Shettian, Chairman of Athena Institute of Health Sciences presided over the function. Asha Shettian, Secretary of Athena Institute of Health Sciences and Dr. Ashith Shettian, Trustee, were among the dignitaries.
Hundred and twenty three graduates received their certificate. Ansu Valentine from the college secured overall 10th rank in the RGUHS final year P.B.B.Sc. examination conducted by RGUHS in September 2018 and other 58 students who secured subject wise ranks from B.Sc and P.B.B.Sc nursing and many other prizes and award holders too were honoured.
Dr Sr Alphonsa, vice principal welcomed the gathering and Pro.Sr. Dhanya Devasia presented the annual report.
Stephen Mascarenhas ‘Hemacharya’ congratulated the graduates and stressed the need to offer the service with a smile throughout their life. Dr. Larrisa Martha Sams, the guest of honour also reaffirmed the need to offer the service with smile and to update oneself specially with regard to skills of nursing.
Anaklita Dorina Misquith and Charishma Veigas, faculty of Athena College of Nursing compeered the programme. Sharlet D’souza , associate professor, department of Paediatric nursing proposed the vote of thanks. Programme came to an end by 8pm with a wonderful cultural programme by the students and sumptuous dinner.
