Mangaluru: Youth Red Cross, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society D.K and Mangalore University organized state level competition on National Youth Day on Jan 11. The program was inaugurated by the chief guest Kusumadara B.K, Hon. Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society and in his speech he enlightened about National Youth Day and said to adapt the inspirational thoughts in our daily life also motivated the volunteers actively participate in the events.
Dr Mohammed Gulzar Ahmed, Principal and Dean of Yenepoya Pharmacy College in his speech said how Swami Vivekananda inspired the world with his speech. Dr Shivaprasad Dean/Principal Yenepoya Homeopathy Medical College in his presidential address quoted the words of Swamy Vivekananda that everything is easy when you are busy but nothing is easy when you are lazy. Ms Nithyashree B V, Nodal Officer, Youth Red Cross welcomed the gathering and Ms Jyothi, Program officer delivered the vote of thanks. Adrija Program officer Yenepoya Pharmacy college compered the program.
More than 300 students from around 40 colleges across the state with participated in the Yuva Vagmi, Yuva Kalakar and Yuva Thejaswi competitions.
