Mangaluru/ New Delhi: On the occasion of Teachers Day, Indian Medical Association awarded Dr Animesh Jain with the honorary professorship of IMA headquarters, New Delhi.
He has been selected at the National level in recognition of his contribution to medical education, teaching, research and capacity building. He is among 26 eminent doctors from across India and the only one from Karnataka to receive this honour this year.
The ceremony was addressed by Union Health Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Cabinet Minister Shri Pashupatinath Paras, Minister of State Smt Meenakshi lekhi. The national president of IMA, Dr Sahajanand Prasad and national honorary Secretary General Dr Jayesh Lele, Dr Vedprakash Mishra and past national president Dr Jayalal were among those present.
Dr Jain was presented a plaque and scroll in recognition of his continued contribution to medical education and research by Smt Meenakshi Lekhi.
Dr. Animesh Jain is Professor of Community Medicine, at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore (MAHE, Manipal) and has been actively involved in IMA activities at the branch and State level.
