Mangaluru: “Encourage more students to take up higher education in science “Principal, St. Agnes College at “Science Adda “program.  Under the DBT Star College Scheme, St.Agnes College being a Star Status college organised a One-day interactive workshop  “Science  Adda” for high school students.

On 13 January 2022, the UG departments of Science hosted this workshop with the motive of encouraging students to take up Basic science at the undergraduate level and pursue careers in Science and Technology.
The chief guest Sr. Dr Venissa A.C, Principal, emphasized the importance of women’s contribution in the field of science and education. “School children are naturally curious which makes science an ideal subject for them to learn,” she said. Helen Serrao, the Convenor of this workshop, highlighted the impetus given by the Government under Star College Scheme to encourage and kindle a love for basic science in high school students.
This workshop would give the high school students a chance to visit the eight science subject laboratories and interact with the lecturers, ask questions and learn.

This workshop would give them exposure to intriguing and interesting experiments in Science. 90 students from three schools namely St.Agnes CBSE school, St. Agnes Kannada medium school and Padua Government High School were a part of this workshop. Froidy, HOD of Botany, compered the program.
