Mangaluru: “Zaika” the multi-cuisine Food Festival of Shree Devi College of Hotel Management Mangalore is being conducted annually to highlight the flavours of the world. It is organized by the students every year. They display their talents in their Food & Beverage Services, Housekeeping and Front Office Management.
On Nov 9, 2022 ‘Zaika’ was inaugurated by the Chief guest, Prof Gayathree K., Dept. of Home Science, Besant College Mangalore. The guest of Honour Dilip Kumar, Ast. Director Dept. of Fisheries. It is presided over by Samuel R. Jathanna Principal, Shree Devi College of Hotel Management. The events began with a prayer song of our students.
After the inauguration ceremony, there was a display of varieties of dishes in the Food Stalls representing different flavours like Indian, Chinese, Italian etc. Various food items like neer dosa, kababs, chicken fried rice, chicken sandwich, chicken pasta, neypathiri etc. were prepared on the spot by the students. Students had the opportunity to exhibit their creative skills in flower arrangements, napkin folding and carving skills. A large number of students and teachers participated in the event and it was a grand success.
