ISRO scientist Jayalakshmi receives Ph.D from NITK

Mangaluru: Budding ISRO scientist Jayalakshmi M received her Ph.D. degree in Metallurgical and Material Engineering at the 17th Annual Convocation of the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka (NITK) Surathkal on November 2.

She successfully defended her thesis titled “Effect of shot peening coverage on microstructure and mechanical properties of plasma nitride AISI 316 stainless steel” under the guidance of Prof. Udaya Bhat (MME Department) and Prof. B Ramachandra Bhat (Chemistry Department) of NITK.

She is the daughter of retired Principal Prof. M Seetharama Poojary and Associate Professor Sunanda U of Mangalore University College.
