JEE Main 2022- Application Process, Dates, Eligibility, Seat Allocation

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a national-level engineering entrance exam to select qualified students seeking admission in various IITs, GFTIs, and NITs. The JEE Main is also a gateway for candidates seeking admission in JEE Advanced. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The main examination has two papers- Paper I for the B.Tech programme and Paper II for B.Arch and B. Planning programme. The NTA has released the 2022 official notification PDF on its official website; jeemain.nta.nic.in. This year there will be only two sessions of the main examination unlike four. The Session 1 application process is underway on the NTA official website. And the Session 2 registration process will start on April 8, 2022.

JEE Main Exam Dates 2022

The exam schedule for the 2022 calendar year is released by the NTA. Candidates can register themselves for session 1 on the NTA official website. Check the Date Sheet for Session 1 and Session 2 given below.

JEE Main 2022 Application Process

The JEE Main 2022 Registration Process is ongoing now on the NTA official website. Candidates who wish to participate in the examination should go through the eligibility criteria and fill out the online application form.

  • Go to the NTA official website.
  • Fill Out Application Form 2022
  • Select New Candidate Registration from the drop-down menu.
  • Complete the Registration Form, you will get your registration number and password in your provided mobile number.
  • Now, fill out the Application Form
  • In the payment gateway section, pay the application fee with a debit/credit card or an e-challan from Canara/Syndicate/HDFC/ICICI Bank.
  • The yearly family income has been added as a required field in the Application Form by NTA.

Candidates can also provide their AADHAR number in the application form.

  • Once the candidate has successfully completed the Application Form, a confirmation page will be provided to the candidate.

JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The NTA has started the JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria. Candidates should go through the eligibility criteria given below and make sure they fulfill all the factors of it.

Factor Criteria
Age Limit ●        There is no age limit.

●        But, candidates should check the age limit of the institution they are applying to.

Educational Qualification ●        Only candidates who passed the Class 12 or equivalent test in 2020, 2021, or 2022 are eligible to sit for the exam.

●        Applicants who passed class 12 in 2019 are ineligible.

Number of Attempts ●        This year there will be only two attempts.

●        Students can take the exam three times in a row.

Domicile ●        The applicant must be a citizen of India.

●        Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) may also apply to given the situation they provide the category certificate.

 

Subjects ●        Candidates who choose Paper 1 (B.Tech.) must have completed class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology as required subjects and Chemistry/Biotechnology as an optional subject.

●        Candidates for Papers 2A and 2B must have completed class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as required subjects.

 

How to Prepare for JEE Main 2022?

To pass this national level B. tech entrance exam candidates need to study well and follow the proper preparation strategy. Many students participate in the examination, which rises the competition level of the exam. JEE Main Hall Ticket 2022

The JEE Main Hall Ticket will be released online on the NTA official website. Candidates need to download their hall ticket using their login credentials like registration number and password. The NTA will release the hall tickets about a week before the exam. Candidates need to keep their Hall Ticket safely throughout the exam process.

JEE Main Answer Key 2022

The NTA will provide the JEE Main 2022 Answer Key on its official website after a few days of the exam. The answer key will be available online and candidates can download it.  The answer key will be provisional and candidates can challenge the answer key by providing valid proof and paying the objection fee. Once the objection window is closed the final answer key will be published.

JEE Main Result 2022

The authorities will release the Result soon. The Result Date is not yet out. The NTA scores for each candidate in total in B.E./B.Tech for Session 1 and Session 2 of JEE Main 2022 will be amalgamated for results compilation and creation of the overall Merit List/Ranking. The top 2,50,000 rank holders will be qualified for the JEE Advanced.

JEE Main 2022 Counselling Process

After the announcement of the Mains Result 2022, the counseling process will begin. The JEE Main 2022 counseling process will be conducted entirely online. JoSAA is In-Charge of the Main exam counseling.

The CSAB regulates counseling for open seats (Central Seat Allocation Board). It will be organised in a series of rounds. Registration, choice filling, seat assignment, seat acceptance, and reporting to the designated college are all part of the Counselling process.
