Mangaluru: The Tenth episode of Career Guidance with Prof. Ronald Pinto on ‘How to Face Job Interview’ was premiered on Saturday November 20.

Brian Fernandes, Director of Spearhead Media Group hosted the show by NewsKarnataka, which is powered by Loyala College, Bengaluru.

Brian said, “when you step out of your college after three years or five years of graduation, you are very well known among your peer groups and teachers and your achievements are recognised. But when you enter into an interview room, you are not a known entity. Stating that learning how to face an interview is a key factor in securing a job he welcomed Prof. Ronald Pinto to the show.

Prof. Ronald Pinto who is the Director of the Institute for Individual Development, Mangaluru, specifically talked on How to face Job Interview.

Answering the most important question on ‘ Why interview, in spite of an examination and value added marks sheets? ” Ronald Pinto said, “An employer do not want your brain but your skills. Your brain is evaluated through your marks, but your skills are assessed through your interview. Only a face-to-face interaction could help an employer in finding a right person.”

“Those students who take part in extra-curricular activities in schools become bold enough to face the interview. The ones who are only into studies and not in any other activities have a very less chance to get into any of the jobs,” Pinto observed.

Professor later proceeded with explaining different types of interviews and explained on how to be prepared before the interview.

Brian based on the personal experience added, “Do not speak out of turn, unless you are asked a question in an interview.”

Ronald Pinto concluded the programme by sharing certain secrets of cracking the interview along with certian Dos and Don’ts of the same.

Lastly Brian put forth the words of wisdom and stated all to develop a unique personality so as to ace the interview.
