Moodabidri: The two-day long mass placement drive organized by Alva’s Education Foundation was inaugurated at Dr V S Acharya Vedhike, at Viyagiri here on Friday, July 6.
After inaugurating the program, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, Alva’s Education Foundation has created a benchmark in the field of education. “The mass placement drives like this would be a great opportunity if students utilized it effectively,” he said.
Appreciating the efforts of Alva’s Foundation in organizing such a mass placement drives, Nalin said, the platform has brought the companies closer to the doorsteps of rural masses.
Presiding over the function, Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation said that the institution’s top priority was to give proper exposure and opportunities to the rural students.
Srinivas Rai, Senior Manager, HR, ITC Ltd, Vidyaranya Kollipal, Senior Manager HR, Mphasis, Ganesh Prasad, Moodubidire, HR, UAE Exchange, were felicitated for their constant support for Alva’s Pragati over the years.
At this year’s fair 183 companies chose suitable candidates from more than 10,400 registered job applicants. On opening day, a total of 8347 candidates attended interviews, whereas the second day of the fair was reserved for final selection. Premier companies like Oracle, Ajax Fiori Pvt Ltd, Innova Diesel Generators Pvt Ltd, Wipro, Mphasis and Codecraft Technologies participated.
Employability enhancement centres were temporarily set up at Nudisiri Vedike, to provide proper career guidance to candidates.
Former minister K Abhaychandra Jain, Alva’s Education Foundation Trustee and former minister Amarnath Shetty among others were present.
