Manipal: Goonj-2015, the first music album of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal was released on September 26, 2015 at the Interact building here in Manipal University. The concept of Goonj, which features the best singers of the College was initiated by KMC Student Council’s Cultural Committee led by Rohit Harchandani, Cultural Secretary, a seventh semester student.

Goonj is an initiative to promote the musical prowess among the students in KMC Manipal. It is a collection of melodious songs. It was a dream come true for Rohit who regards it as a celebration of talent and skill in the field of music. The main focus of the album is on classical fusion music but contains Western and Eastern as well and has eight songs; six Hindi, one English and an instrumental song. The songs have been recreated and all this without sacrificing their academics.

The release was graced by the presence of Dr. Pradeep Kumar who was the Guest of Honour, Dr. Poornima Baliga, Dean of KMC Manipal, Associate Dean, Dr. Pragna Rao and others. Yashika Maheshwari, the Vice President of Student Council proposed the vote of thanks.
