Little ‘litterateurs’ grace JSS Sri Manjunatheshwara Central School

Dharwad: JSS Shri Manjunatheshwara Central School campus was abuzz with literary and cultural activities on Saturday as the children in the attire of great literary luminaries and traditional dresses participated actively in a mock Kannada Sahitya Sammelana.

The event was organised to create awareness among the children on Kannada literary world as well as the traditional lifestyle of the region. Moreover, it was also provided a platform for the children to explore their cultural talents as well as bring out their literary skills. The children were introduced and explained about noted Kannada litterateurs and their works on the occasion.

The students had dressed as writer Girish Karnad, poet Chennaveera Kanavi, social reformer Basavanna, Akka Mahadevi and other well known social activists who contributed immensely for the Kannada literary world and society.

The students also propagated the noble messages of their representation in Kannada which was responded with great applause.

The daily life of the traditional Kannada villages was also depicted with amazing clarity. Students dressed up to show Kannada conferences and poetic bard groups. The sweetness of the Kannada language was evident in all the presentations.

A traditional dance show too was displayed besides book exhibition.
