Mangaluru: Under the aegis of the Office of International collaborations in presence of the Vice Chancellor, the International MOU for academic, research collaboration and faculty exchanges was signed between MAHE and Keele University represented by Dr Sanjeev Nayak, KMC Mangalore MBBS Alumnus Batch of 1990.
Dr Sanjeev is Consultant interventional neuroradiologist at University Hospitals, North Midlands under the NHS, UK. He is a celebrated doctor who has pioneered Stroke treatments in the UK and received multiple national awards and has been invited to the Queen’s dinner and Parliament among many other achievements. He is an adjunct faculty at the Department of Radiology KMC Mangalore where the discussion for Collaboration with Keele University started where he is a Lecturer. The Head of the Department of Radiology Dr Santosh Rai had detailed discussions for academic collaborations, Research, and joint symposiums between the two universities. After multiple rounds of discussions offline and online, a joint MOU has been reached.
Dr Nayak has fond memories of his medical school days. He also met the Pro-Chancellor Dr HS Ballal who was the HOD of Radiology and Associate Dean during his medical school days at KMC Mangalore.
The Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen Dr MD Venkatesh, the Director of the International office Dr Karunakar, the Dean of KMC Mangalore Dr Unnikrishnan, Associate Dean Dr Shrikala, the COO of Teaching Hospitals (MAHE) Dr Anand Venugopal and Head of Radiology Dr Santosh Rai were present at the exchange of agreements.
