MysuruCon-2021 opens at Navkis College of Engineering

IEEE Mysore Subsection had organized 1st edition of the Flagship International Conference Series of IEEE Mysore Subsection IEEE MysuruCon-2021, hosted at Navkis College of Engineering, Hassan in association with IEEE Bangalore Section.  The inaugural function was held recently at Navkis College of Engineering, Hassan. IEEE MysuruCon-2021. The inaugural function of  IEEE MysuruCon-2021 graced by Special Guest,   Dr. Karisiddappa, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, VTU, Belagavi and Chief Guest, Dr. Aloknath De, Senior Vice President and CTO Samsung R&D Institute India Bengaluru. Guest of Honors Dr. Ashutosh Dutta,  IEEE Fellow, Chair ECE, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland , USA, Dr. Rocío Pérez de Prado,University of Jaén, SPAIN. Mr. Puneet Kumar Mishra, Honorary Chair, MysuruCon, ISRO, Bengaluru, 2020 Chair, IEEE Bangalore Section, Mr. B.S. Dr. Bindu A. Thomas, General Chair, MysuruCon Chair IEEE Mysore Subsection, Professor & Head, Dept. of ECE, VVIET, Mysuru, delivered the  welcome address.

Dr. Parameshachari B D, General Chair, MysuruCon, Chair-Elect, IEEE Mysore Subsection, Professor & Head, Dept. of TCE, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, highlighted the significance of IEEE MysuruCon-2021. He informed that more than 550 research papers were submitted to the conference by various countries all over the world. After rigorous review around 150 papers were selected for presentation. He told that the intention to organize Mysurucon was to create awareness in local areas about the research going on in the emerging areas of technology.

Dr. Karisiddappa, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, VTU, Belagavi, special guest of the function., inaugurated by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural address he informed that the research publications in the conference must transform to products of practical applications. Doctors and Engineers play a very important role in our society. He suggested that hybrid research is required in Engineering and Medical field. He also mentioned the plan of action taken by VTU to implement National Education Policy, to train the students in multi-dimensional factors. He also highlighted the role of teachers and also be trained to meet the new challenges. Dr.Karisiddappa, in his inaugural address spoke about the revolution happening in the education system and emphasized students to learn to use the new technology for the benefit of the nature and society.

 Chief Guest, Dr. Aloknath De, Senior Vice President and CTO Samsung R&D Institute India Bengaluru. He stressed upon the exposure of students to latest development in technologies like 5G and Internet Of Things. He spoke about investing time in providing solutions to the local problems

 Guest of Honor Dr. Ashutosh Dutta, IEEE Fellow, Chair ECE, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, USA, appreciated the effort of Mysuru subsection in organizing the conference in Navkis college of Engineering.

Dr. Pradeep P, IAS Commissioner, Department of Collegiate and technical education Government of Karnataka, Guest of Honour, spoke about how engineering program helps in developing Creative thinking, analytical skills and how Karnataka has been contributing towards implementation of National Education Policy emphasizing on research and innovation

Dr. Rocío Pérez de Prado, University of Jaén, SPAIN, Guest of Honour, discussed about the benefits of IEEE membership, various programmes organized, continuously updating knowledge, good recognition from the society as well as in the world.

 Mr. Puneet Kumar Mishra, Honorary Chair, MysuruCon, ISRO, Bengaluru, 2020 Chair, IEEE Bangalore Section. He was the key person coming up with the idea of MysuruCon-2021 to give awareness to general public in local areas about recent development and technology. He motivated students to identify the problems of nearby villages and propose solutions to them.

Dr. M.G Venkateshmurthy, Director (Technical), Navkis College of Engineering, Hassan delivered the presidential address. He mentioned that researchers wish to publish their work in IEEE journals or proceedings of IEEE conferences and IEEE explorer. IEEE conference being organized in Navkis College of Engineering, Hassan has given a boost to researchers in this region. He highlighted some important points which helps student development in academics. He also created awareness of implementing the National Education Policy-2020 in India.

 Dr. Mohana H S, Organizing Chair, Principal, Navkis College of Engineering, Hassan proposed vote of thanks and thanked all those who directly or indirectly supported in successfully organizing the programme.

Shri. AnandaRam M R, Chairman, Navkis College of Engineering Hassan, appreciated the efforts of college staff and IEEE MysuruCon Team. He wished to conduct more such programmes in future as well.

Dr. Aloknath De, Senior Vice President and CTO Samsung R&D Institute India Bengaluru, delivered keynote address on ‘Technology Interplay and Immersive Services’. He spoke about 5G services and benefits. He highlighted the immersive service experiences enabled by 5G services.

Dr. Ashutosh Dutta, IEEE Fellow, Chair ECE, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, USA, delivered keynote address on ‘Security in SDN/NFV and 5G Networks’. He elaborated on the technologies involved in security aspects of 5G Networks.

IEEE MysuruCon-2021 attracted over 550 scholarly submissions from all over the world. To name a few USA, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Bangladesh, UK, SPAIN, South Africa, France, Nigeria, Ethiopia and also from  premier institutions like IITs and NITs, ISRO, DRDO, NAL in India. Out of which 150 high quality scholarly submissions were selected for inclusion in the conference proceedings. There were 14 parallel sessions. In each track, the Best Presentation was awarded with Cash Prize and Certificate.
