Mangaluru: NITK celebrated International day for Elimination of Violence against Women by hosting discrimination against women Pakhwada under the directive by the Ministry of Education under the title ‘Training programme on Gender Sensitization’.
Prof. G.C. Mohan Kumar Director-in-charge NITK Surathkal inaugurated the programme on the elimination of violence against women which was witnessed by the Registrar, Dean Academics, Dean of Faculty Welfare (Director-in-Charge), Deans, HoDs & Faculty.
Resource person Prof. Vijaylakshmi . V, Chairperson ICC-SH VIT- Chennai conveyed the essence of today’s theme in an absorbing manner to more than 200 attendees.
This programme will continue till Dec. 10 to draw awareness of every person on the campus including teaching staff, non-teaching staff and students who will be briefed by POSH trainers specifically on gender issues.
The programme is convened by Dr Sheena, Chairperson of the Internal Complaints Committee, NITK and coordinated by Prof.Annapa.B, Dr Senthil Tilak, Dr Khyati Verma, Murugavelu.D, Wilma Irene Pinto, members of the committee.
