The event, which also had the presence of Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, JMD, PVR Ltd., was organised exclusively by PVR Nest, a decade old social arm of the company. Through this initiative, PVR Nest seeks to nurture and sensitize its employees as well as corporate sector to act as influencers of social change and emphasise on the deep-rooted impact that channelized philanthropic activities in making the world a better place for future generations.

Outlining the role of corporate sector in the social domain, Sanjeev Kumar Bijli said: “It is good to see the participation of executives from different organisations. We have a collective responsibility to contribute towards engineering a positive social change and ensuring that the economic divide in the society is reduced gradually through sustained efforts of like minded organisations and individuals.”

Commenting further, he said: “Such platform can be used for creating a space where everyone interested can brainstorm for disruptive innovations to eradicate poverty and build a robust and inclusive society.”

The event also witnessed Bijli gifting a cheque to GreenSole for 500 pairs of shoes meant for “children at risk” that PVR Nest supports through its “Childscapes” centres in the national capital.

These companies conduct collection drives in their offices and pay GreenSole to refurbish the shoes and donate them in villages.
