Roshni Nilaya holds “Expressions 2022 – Fandom”

Mangaluru: School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore organized a National Level Inter-Collegiate Talent Hunt, “Expressions 2022 – Fandom” on Nov 25 2022.
The theme of the fest was ‘Fandom- To infinity and beyond.  The program began with Dr Juliet C.J., the Former Principal welcoming the guests. Shri. Kumara, IAS, CEO Zilla Panchayat, and Dakshina Kannada inaugurated the fest. He encouraged students to make the best of their life by utilising all the talents and opportunities that come their way. He also emphasised the importance of ‘student life’ in his inaugural address.
The Guest of Honor, Shri. Anshu Kumar IPS, DCP Law and Order, Mangalore also addressed the gathering. Dr Sophia Fernandes, Principal, of the School of Social Work, presided over the function and Ananya Sathish, student of III B.A. presented the curtain raiser.  Sarik Ankitha, Dean of Student Progression and Coordinator of the event concluded the inaugural with a vote of thanks.
The competitions commenced at 10.30 am with 25 colleges from in and outside the state participating in a total of 9 nerve-wracking events namely, Flash (Photography) judged by Kavan Kubevoor (District Leo President ) and Rachan ( MA in Film Arts and Film Making ), Cinematography (reels), Art Squad (face painting) judged by Swathi (HR, Entrepreneur ), Rachana ( Full Time Artist ), Master Chef Cosmos (cooking without fire) judged by  Sushma( Master Chef Runner-up 2020), Praveena ( Advocate, Food Blogger), Big Shark (shark tank) judged by Guruprasad K. ( Manager Canada Industries) and Thanveer( Partner at Heaven Rose), The Fame Game (mock press)  judged by Venkatesh(Lecturer) and  Steeven D’Souza (Lecturer), The Quick Style (Dance) judged by Praveen and Shobith, the Big Bang Stress Theory( stress interview) judged by Carol Pais Coelho and  Don Prakash Adithya and Sherlock Holmes(treasure hunt) which were conducted with great zeal and enthusiasm at various venues in the college.
Valedictory :
 The Valedictory of the Intercollegiate Fest commenced at 5:30 pm in the Auditorium.  Swaraj Shetty, the Kantara fame was the Chief Guest for the evening. He stated anecdotes from the movie while it was being shot, the reason behind its success and implored the importance of the preservation of culture. Angel Roshni, President of the Student’s Council welcomed the gathering and Zainab Shereen, General Secretary of the college proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Jenis Mary, Vice Principal, presided over the function. She enlightened the students on the qualities common among successful people and encouraged students to seek inspiration and achieve great heights. Sarik Ankitha, Student Welfare Officer was also present during the occasion.
The overall Championship Trophy was bagged by St. Agnes College Mangalore, the Runner-up was bagged by Poornaprajna College, Udupi .
