Mangaluru: The inauguration of The Aloysian Fest 2022 was held on May 6 at 9:00 a.m. in the Mother Theresa Peace Park.
Jyothish Shetty, a proud alumnus and renowned cine actor was the Chief Guest. After inaugurating the fest, Shetty reminisced his college days at St Aloysius College. He said that St Aloysius College has been very supportive of education as well as extra-curricular activities. He further said that he achieved success in the film industry because of the support for cultural activities he received from this College. He suggested that the students should aim to achieve a big goal in life.
Principal, Rev. Fr Praveen Martis, SJ, through his message, congratulated the efforts of the students in organising such a mega event. He welcomed teams from other colleges and requested them to make the festival a grand success. Students should grab all the opportunities they receive in the college and contribute to the society with a positive attitude, he added.
Rector of the Aloysius Institutions, Rev. Fr Melvin Pinto, SJ, in his presidential remarks, spoke about the achievement of Jyotish Shetty, an old student of the college, who is a great role model for all the students. St Aloysius College provides a lot of opportunities for students to nurture their hidden talents and requested them to make use of it.
Aloysian Fest 2022, Co-ordinator Dr Hemachandra welcomed the gathering. Swaroop Shetty and Sweety Menezes compered the programme. Student Council President Vijay Ashwin Cardoza delivered the vote of thanks. Co-convenor, Dr Manuel Tauro, Dean of Student Activity Cell, Dr Ishwara Bhat, Registrar Dr Alwyn D’Sa, Finance Officer Rev. Fr Vincent Pinto, SJ, Director of various blocks, Student Council Director, Anoop Vegas, and Student Council Cultural Secretary Leona Allison D’Souza were present on the dais.
After the inauguration, many cultural events were held by the students. The science fair at this festival attracted everyone.
