Ujire: Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College (Autonomous), along with the Department of B.Voc held the inauguration of B.Voc Students’ Associations titled Lumos, Ideal bits Vishishta at SDM Naturopathy and Yogic Science College auditorium on Saturday February 5.
The inauguration of the programme was held in the presence of Commissioner of Police N. Shashikumar. The Chief Guest of the programme was M. Y. Harish, E.O, SDME Society, Ujire. The President of the programme was Dr. Satheeshchandra S., SDME Society, Ujire.
Principal of SDM Degree Dr. Udayachandra P. N., Dean of SDM PG centre Dr. Vishwanatha P., Course Co-ordinator Suveer Jain and four office bearers from each department were present for the event.
In the inaugural address Shashikumar said, “Students should be prepared from Village level so that it grows up to further level from district to State and finally the country will be developed in a properly. Prepare yourself for the future now itself so that it will be structured.”
The Chief Guest M. Y. Harish wished good luck to the office bearers and advised them how to take the Association on the right path.
Dr. Satheeshchandra S. said that before advising students one should deliberate deeply. Stating an anecdote that anklets make more sound than the necklace, he advised students that the future will be bright when one sets a definite goal.
Lecturer of Retail and Supply Chain Management Praveen Kumar presided over the oath-taking ceremony of the office bearers for the Academic year. Lecturer of Digital Media and Film Making Ashwini Jain presented the report of the B.Voc Department. The initiatives that were launched in the programme consists of 14 applications, 3 start-ups, a web- series and a movie.
Spandana, a software and App development student was felicitated during the ceremony for completing more than 20 online courses during lockdown.
Head of three Departments Dr. Bhaskar Hegade, Shailesh Kumar, Dr. Rakesh and Lectures from SDM Degree College, SDM Naturopathy and Yogic Science College, SDM PG centre and Lectures of B.Voc Department and the students of B.Voc Department were present for the programme.
Priyanka P. K., a Retail and Supply Chain Management student welcomed the gathering. Lecturer of B.Voc in Digital Media and Film Making Ashwini Jain and Priyanka mastered the ceremony.
Course Co-ordinator Suveer Jain concluded the function with the vote of thanks.
