Mangaluru: School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore is organizing Spandana -2022 Responding to Realities, an International  Student Social Workers’ Symposium on the theme ‘DEVELOPMENT – Initiatives and Practices for Smart Villages’ on October 6-7, 2022.

The theme “DEVELOPMENT – Initiatives and Practices for Smart Villages’’ enables the participants to understand the various pattern of sustenance including Social Sustainability, Sustainable Business Culture, Digitally Sustainable Smart Village and Sustenance of Stakeholders’ Wellness for Smart Villages.

Dr Jenifer Lolita, Joint Director – Collegiate Education, Mangalore  Regional office, Mangaluru will be the Chief Guest and inaugurate Spandana -2022 on 6th October 6, 2022, at 10 a.m.  Dr Juliet C.J, Principal, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, will preside over the inaugural session. Prof. P P Devan from A J Medical College, Mangaluru will be the keynote speaker.

The first General Session on “Stakeholders wellness for smart villages” will be dealt with by Fr Arun Lobo, Director of the counselling centre, Bajjodi. The second General Session on “Social Sustainability: The Need for Health Promotion” will be addressed by Dr Kavita Jangam, Dept. Of Psychiatric Social work NIMHANS, 

On October 7, P L Dharma, Registrar Evaluation, Mangalore will be the Chief Guest. The first session on “Sustainable Initiatives for Smart Villages will be addressed by Dr S Sudharsan, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, Madras Christian College, The Subsequent Session will be addressed by Brian Fernandes, Director of Spearhead Media Pvt. Ltd, Mangaluru on the topic Sustainable Business Culture and the role of HR. 

The VALEDICTORY of the meeting will be held at 4 p.m.  Dr Erlend Walseth, Volda University College (VUC), Norway will be the Chief Guest. Dr Jenis P Mary, Vice Principal, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, will preside over the Valedictory session.

Scientific paper presentations are also scheduled for the participants on the following themes.

  • Psychological approaches toward Sustainable Health Promotion
  • Integration of Health Promotion and Sustainable Development
  • Environment Sustainability and CSR
  • Work-life balance for Sustainability
  • Employee Engagement and Sustainability
