002 St Agnes College Holds Independence Day Celebrations Main

Mangaluru: The Department of Political Science and the NCC Unit of St Agnes College (Autonomous), organized Independence Day Celebrations – Azadi Ka Amrith Mahothsav commemorating 75 years of freedom.

The Chief Guest Ln Ramayya Shetty Ex Army – IEME, was escorted by the NCC Cadets along with Sr Dr Lydia A.C., Joint Secretary, St Agnes Institutions, Sr Dr M. Venissa A.C., the Principal, Sr Carmel Rita A.C. the Administrator and ANO’s Lt Gayathri BK and Fg Offr. Dr Hithakshi B. The Chief Guest unfurled the tricolor Flag, followed by the cultural programme. 

Lt Gayathri BK, welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest, in his address, said that the youth are the nation builders and they can work towards the progress of the nation. He emphasized that we all need to contribute to thefuture in one way or the other. He spoke about the scope and opportunities in defence forces and encouraged the students to make use of such opportunities.

Sgt Trisha Shetty performed a dance drama on an event in the life of Kittur Rani Chennama and the programme concluded with a patriotic song followed by singing of the College Anthem.
