Mangaluru: The Post Graduate Department of Chemistry of St Agnes College (Autonomous), organized a webinar on “Soft Skills for Career Success” which was held at P.G. Auditorium on 02 July 2022.

The resource person and speaker of the programme was Prajwal Mathias Pinto, Principal Scientist, Syngene International Ltd, Bangalore.

The programme was compered by Ashwathi of II M.Sc. Chemistry. The convener of the programme was Dr Geetha Pinto. Prayer was led by Sneha and Roshni of II M.Sc. Chemistry followed by a welcome speech by Johan of II M.Sc. Chemistry.

The speaker of the programme gave a valuable quote and began the session on soft skills for career success highlighting the difference between soft and hard skills and the right attitude on how one must maintain at the workplace; how to improve soft skills which included being self-confident, communication, team spirit and work, critical thinking, time management, integrity and negotiation.

There was an interaction during which she guided students on the right way to present themselves. There was a small round of mock interviews with Jinkle of II M.Sc. Chemistry. Later the speaker shared her comments on this. At the end Anagha of II M.Sc. Chemistry proposed the vote of thanks and Dr Geetha Pinto expressed gratitude for the time spent and for accepting the invitation. 

It was a very informative session which made students to know the importance of soft skills for career success as well as prepared students mentally to face the challenges that come their way at workplace and life.
