Udupi: Due to changes in technology, there are lifestyle changes in us too. However, as students it is very important to choose right from wrong and start moving forward in life, said Mangalore Institute of Technology, Moodabidri and Visvesvaraya Technological University Senate Member Dr G. L. Eshwar Prasad.
He was speaking at the graduation day – 2020-21 of Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Technological University held on Friday, September 24. Today India is ready to introduce 5G technology, and such technological innovation is integral to the country’s progress. There are plenty of opportunities to take up studies in different fields every single day. It is the deep determination that is a stepping stone to human beings’ success, he emphasised.
In his presidential address, Nitte Education Trust Chairman and Nitte Deemed to be University Vice-Chancellor N. Vinay Hegde said we need the right encouragement to achieve in life. Every lecturer should upgrade her/himself and accordingly impart knowledge to the students. Behind the success are knowledge, sincere efforts and free knowledge sharing, he observed.
The toppers were felicitated with gold and silver medals during the ceremony. The student graduates from BE, MCA and MTech streams were conferred degrees through online mode.
Shivani from BE Biotechnology Department, Siddivinayak Dattatreya Hegde from Civil Department, Maithri Suresh from Computer Science Department, Sanjana from Electronics Department, Shreyas P. P. from Electricals Department, Archana S. H. from Information Science Department, Canon D’Silva from Mechanical Department, and Sri Lakshmi M, H. M. Meghana, Sharada G., Pragati U. Rao, Lubna Mohammed, Aqeel Mohammed, Hariprasad from MTech and Babitha Shetty from MCA Department won the gold medals.
Under BE, Shreya Hegde from Biotechnology Department, Sujith Shetty from Civil Department, Shivani Shenoy from Computer Science Department, Nisha Vera D’Cunha from Electronics Department, Prithvi J. Padpu from Electricals Department, Medhini Aithal from Information Science Department, Ajay K. Shetty from Mechanical Department, and Mohammed Hashim M. H., Deeksha V. Naila, Vaishnavi S. Shetty, Vandana R. P., Ashwini U. Nikhil Kanoji from MTech as well as Vignesh Pai from MCA Department bagged silver medals.
Nitte Technological University Principal Dr Niranjan N. Chiplonkar read the annual report and welcomed the guests. Vice Principal and Evaluation Department Head Dr Srinivas Rao B R led the ceremony parade. Vice Principal Dr I Ramesh Mittanthaya called out names of gold and silver medal winners. Deputy Controller of Examination Prof. Dr Srinivas Pai from the Mechanical Department delivered the vote of thanks. Student Welfare Dean Dr Subrahmanya Bhat coordinated the programme. Biotechnology Department lecturer Dr Ujwala compered the programme.
