Mangaluru: With the mission to bring an awareness of clean and green nature, Vikas Pre-University College, Mangaluru, had conducted ‘Tree Plantation-2018’ programme at Vidya Jyothi English Medium High School, Vamanjoor, Mangaluru on Monday, December 4.
It was part of the innovative initiation of Vikas Pre-University College to protect forest which was inaugurated on December 1 by Krishna J Palemar, former minister and the Chairman of Vikas Group of Institutions.
Sister Joel Lasrado, Correspondent, Sister Ancilla D’Mello, Headmistress, Sister Reema Crasta, Superior queen of Apostles, Sister Dora Mascarenhas, Asst. Headmistress, Manjunath, Asst. teacher, staff and students of Vidya Jyothi English Medium High School, Vamanjoor, Lions Club Leo President of 317D Leo Pallavi Pai, Leo Coordinator, Ln Bhageshwari Shetty, Lions CQI Coordinator, Ln Prashanth Pai, Leo Eisha Shetty, Leo Sheeba Ullal, Leo Pratheesh Pakkala, Ln Pooja Pai, Dr. Ajay Takoor, Principal, Vikas College of Physiotherapy, Mangaluru, and Karthik Uparna, lecturer in Physics, Vikas PU College, planted the saplings on the premises of the School.
Tree planting was carried out in order to maintain the ecological balance and as a solution for the large- scale destruction of forest.
