We won Kargil in spite of insufficiency: Col. Nitteguttu Sharath Bhandari

Mangaluru: Commemorating the war heroes of Kargil, Media Club of the Department of Journalism at the University College Mangaluru organised the 22nd Kargil Vijay Diwas in a virtual forum.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief guest, retired warrior and University College Mangalore Alumni Association President Col. Nitteguttu Sharath Bhandari said, “In spite of the failure of espionage, shortage of weapons and proper clothing for freezing weather, Indian soldiers were able to maintain the hold on Kargil, strategically a very important region for India.”

Presiding of the function, Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai said that we should remember our soldiers each and every day, not only on July 26. Journalism department head Dr. Shani K. R commented that the Kargil victory conveyed a message of solidarity and patriotism.

Lecturers Dr. Soumya KB and Guruprasad, other teachers and students were present.
