Working in company not something tedious: Prof Ronald Pinto

Mangaluru: The 10th episode of Career Guidance with Prof. Ronald Pinto on “Role of Aptitude test and GD in campus selection” was premiered on Friday November 26.

Brian Fernandes, Director of Spearhead Media Group hosted the show by NewsKarnataka, which is powered by Loyala College, Bengaluru.

“As a ‘Player of the match’ in every world cup, there will be some who will stand out in group discussions for the companies to chose them,” said Brian Fernandes opening the session.

Prof. Ronald Pinto who is the Director of the Institute for Individual Development, Mangaluru, specifically talked about Aptitude test and GD in campus selection.

Ronald Pinto answering on what exactly is the Aptitude Test all about? said, “Aptitude in Greek means Fitness. In order to measure the psychological abilities and inborn capacities of the candidates, companies conduct aptitude test before the interview.”

He explained the different types of aptitude tests and regarded them as a passport to get into jobs.

Brian Fernandes said, “Aptitude test requires preparation and with preparation, at least 50% to 60% can clear the test.”

Adding on he spoke about GD and noted, “Somebody who can spilt the topic, take control over the group and present oneself as a leader can win the group discussion.”

Ronald Pinto, giving insight on GD said, “Working in a company is not something monotonous. It is the place wherein you should posess Patience, Vocal ability, General awareness along with being emphathetic. And so, a person with these quality is selected.”

“Once you start working, it is very important keep learning,” said Brian Fernandes before signing off.
