Mangaluru: Students of Innovation Club and Environment Association of University College Mangaluru celebrated the World Book and Copyright Day online by sharing their experiences and reviews on their favourite Books, on Friday.

Dr Nitte Shankara Adyanthaya Memorial First Grade College, Nitte Assistant Professor Namiraj delivered an inspiring talk and said books are guiding lights in dark and an invisible friend. Principal Dr Anasuya Rai appreciated the program and the students for organising such a meaningful program. She wished the students to continue reading habit and be safe in this pandemic situation.

Innovation Club Deputy Director Dr Siddaraju explained the copyright issues and some interesting copyright infringement cases of the world including ‘Delhi University Photocopy Case’. He spoke about how much a student can use Google information for their project, how to cite sources, what type of images can be downloaded for their academic purposes, what per cent of literature can be photocopied from textbook under fair use policy etc.

Innovation club Secretary Vedhaashini explained the importance of the day, while Vaishnavi shared her view on the importance of books in maintaining mental peace and patience. Students shared their Book images which included a diverse variety of books from the classic Panchatantra to robust Paulo Coelho books.

Students shared their experience on their first readings and best readings. Melreen, Thejaswini, Gowsiya, Vedashini and Pallavi organised the program.
