Mangaluru: Under the guidance of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and MLA Vedavyas Kamath, the first and biggest food path festival in Mangaluru was inaugurated at Brahmashree Narayana Guru Circle at Lady Hill in the City.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Vedavyas Kamath said that special delicacies of Tulunadu and inter-state snacks will provide a unique experience to the citizens for five days with a touch of cultural extravaganza.
The Mangalore Food Path festival is on Wednesday March 22 to Sunay 26 from 5.00 pm to 11.00 pm and it is heartening to note that citizens are participating in large numbers. The festival is held with the aim of introducing this generation to the food richness of Tulunadu and providing a platform for self-employment. It aims to provide a platform for self-employment, various business sectors such as hospitality, ice cream, home products, and catering industries, he said.
He added that different cultural and coastal entertainment programmes are adding to the charm of the festival.
From the the Karavali festival ground to Mannagudde Junction via Brahmashree Narayana Guru Circle, more than 200 stalls, cultural platforms, lighting along the roads, and a separate kids’ zone for children to play are some of the special attractions. Thousands of people are participating in the programme every day.
MLC Pratapsimha Nayak, Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar Jain, MUDA President Ravishankar Mijar, Kudla Cultural Foundation Honorary President Giridhar Shetty, President Diwakar Pandeshwara, Leaders Roopa D Bangera, Biruver Kudla Founder President Uday Poojary Ballalbagh, Jagadish Kadri, Lalit Raj Mendon, Ashwith Kottari and others were present.
